Physician Heal Thyself
Thieves that broke into the almost finished home near the M Streets in Old East Dallas on September 20th and stole more than $5,000.00 worth of appliances might should have done a little more homework before pulling off the heist. The home they robbed belongs to Dallas Police Chief David Kunkle. "Like anyone who is a victim of crime, it makes you angry and frustrated and makes you want to keep it from happening again," Kunkle told the Dallas Morning News. He found out about it when his wife called him in tears.
I'm sure residents of Big D hope this little episode motivates the chief to get tough on crime. Dallas has the No. 1 crime rate in America for cities with more than 1 million residents. Most of the city's crimes are nonviolent property offenses such as home burglaries, just like this one.
